Cold fire

The light of the moon
is the flame which consumes
the human façade
until all that is left
is the wolf
that’s been waiting within.

An alternate timeline

I’m glad the human-wolf partnership worked out so well.
Can you imagine how much different life would be today if humans had taken a liking to the snake that slithered up closer to the campfire?

Is this travel necessary?

‪When I’m laying in bed, warm and comfortable, with kitties in my lap or next to me, and I start to get up, they ask me “Is this travel really necessary?”

‪“But the kitchen is where the coffee is!” I explain.‬

‪They are unconvinced, and it is clear we disagree about necessity.‬

How life looks, from the dog’s perspective

Dog: Let’s go outside!
Human: WAT? WHERE GO?
Dog: Outside. It’s a good night to run.
Human: MUST DRESS
Dog: Oh… OK.
Human: NEED SHOOZ.
Dog: you humans sure are needy.
Human: REDDY!
Dog: Then let’s go!
Human: WHER?
Dog: I don’t know. How about if we follow our noses?
Human: CAN’T SMEL
Dog: Just follow me, then.
Human: * crashes into tree * CAN’T SEE AT NITE
Dog: It’s a good thing I love you.

Wolf happens

The human body has so much that can go wrong with it, especially when under stress, for instance, some people are genetically predisposed from birth to become wolves.

You are more than your trauma

He fled to the form of wolf, trying to outrun his trauma, which always kept pace with him. Then one day, he heard the moon whisper, “You are more than your trauma,” and on that day, he discovered he was free to be human once again, if he chose.
