Trusting happiness is a fool’s aspiration.
Happiness is not to be trusted.
It is a transitory state.
To be enjoyed when it passes your way —
but by no means taken for granted.
It will pass, and leave you to live without it.
Expect this, and do not expect the bliss of transitory happiness to be your permanent state.
Enjoy every moment — but you cannot dwell in one.
Each passes, and leaves you behind.
The real question is, what will you do with your next moment? And the one after that.
