Nothing says love like finding out your special person is… more than a little special at the February full moon— and still keeping your Valentine’s Day date a few days later.
Valentine’s Day (and Lupercalia) planning
In 2020, the February full moon is on Sunday, February 9, so if you have a date for February 14, they’re probably not a werewolf.
Not a lunar werewolf, anyway.

Holiday werewolves
Holiday werewolves: ever considered getting drunk cheap by drinking all the blood of someone who’s BEEN drinking?
It won’t work.
Adult blood volume is about five liters/5000 ml.
A blood alcohol content of 0.10 percent would be… 5 ml of pure alcohol.
Which would be the equivalent of 12.5 ml of 80 proof booze of your choice; about 0.44 fluid ounces, or less than a third of a shot.
So even if you, a werewolf, drank ALL your victim’s 80 proof rum-infused blood, it would barely register. Not a good life choice, werewolf.
(So, you’ll never see a werewolf in one of my stories making THAT mistake!)
Rules of the game
When you’re playing hide-and-go-seek with a werewolf, it’s not fair if either of you changes form after the ‘seeking’ parties covers their eyes.

A werewolf walks into a diner…
A werewolf walks into a diner at the full moon, sits down, and orders pot roast.
“I’m sorry, hun, we’re fresh out,” the waitress tells him.
It would have to be steak, then. He hadn’t had meatloaf since that unfortunate event with Jack.
You are more than your trauma
He fled to the form of wolf, trying to outrun his trauma, which always kept pace with him. Then one day, he heard the moon whisper, “You are more than your trauma,” and on that day, he discovered he was free to be human once again, if he chose.
Werewolf alert
Werewolves: for those of lunar influence (or inclination), the next full moon appraches on Tuesday, November 12 at 8:34 a.m. EST, BUT it’s already 92.5% full NOW.
For everybody else: watch out for werewolves as you’re driving these next few days. They may be moon-besotted, and not paying enough attention to traffic.
The possibility of a granted wish
He was discontented with the world and everything in it, and he wished his life was a garment that he could just change out of.
