Baby, it’s…

I am now working on a story “Baby, It’s… No. Sorry. Not You. It’s Someone Else. Are You Still Here? Why Are You Still Here?”

Actually, that’s probably the whole story right there, right in the title. The End.

Cream of… what?

“Your recipe calls for a can of cream if mushroom soup. Was that a typo?”
“No. The labels was torn off after the ‘cream of’ part, so it MAY be mushroom – or it may be cream of something else.”

Unfamiliar little sounds

Occasionally I will hear an unfamiliar little sound come from my computer. I like to think it’s the sound effect from some unseen beneficent spirit bestowing a blessing on me, but if it IS that, I remain unaware as to the nature of the specific benefit I have received.

It COULD be something the beneficent spirit has averted, like an asteroid that was supposed to come down on my head or something. Or it could just be the sound notifying me of an incoming e-mail or instant message.
